The López López family is from Betaña, a small indigenous community in the state of Chiapas (Southern Mexico). There, they raise sheep and work to process the sheep’s wool into cloth, which is an tremendously intricate and artisanal process. Once they’ve woven the wool thread into cloth, they work together to cut out shapes to create these beautiful, soft toys. The toys are also stuffed with woollen cloth, so that not one bit of material is wasted.
